ABBAFEVER To Take Part In Festival On The Beach

On the 9, 10 and 11th of June 2006 there is to be a very large festival taking place just outside of Benidorm. The festival is called ABBA ON THE BEACH and yes, it is literally featuring Benidorm's Official Abba Tribute Show ABBAFEVER - On The Beach!!

To celebrate the beginning of the World Cup festivities, a Dutch owned Cabaret venue in Albir, near Benidorm are sponsoring this great event.

The Ritz, owned by the very elegant Esther, are organising local choirs, including a 96 strong childrens choir and dance school The Stage Door, to take part in this amazing event. It will start with a street parade from the main shopping area in Albir - right down to the beautiful seafront, where the Ritz is located. A 36 piece orchestra will be playing the many hits of ABBA, and Benidorm's own ABBAFEVER will be taking to the purpose built stage. It promises to be an amazing event, with locals and holidaymakers all joining in the fun. The rehearsals for all this frivolity are already taking place, and Dutch Musical Director Rob Barendsma from TEATRO DEL SOL is in charge of all the vocal and dance technique. He has many years of experience in events such as this and is really looking forward to it. He said ; "Because ABBA is such a worldwide phenomenon, we thought it would be nice to bring all different nationalities together to celebrate. ABBA recorded songs in lots of different languages, so everyone has their own interpretation of their favourite ABBA song."

Most of the singers and dancers taking part are Dutch and English, and its going to be an exciting event with fireworks and glitter canons going off, dancing, flag waving and singing!   Other quality acts from the Benidorm cabaret circuit have been asked to join in as well, including singing sensations TIMELESS, a male trio currently working at the STARDUST in Benidorm. The brilliant WESLEY PHILLIPS from CAFE BENIDORM is also appearing and many many more. ABBAFEVER are really looking forward to the event, which will go on till the early hours.
